Australia vs Pakistan – first T20 international | Cricket

Alright, folks, the Australia vs. Pakistan T20I is here, and it’s shaping up to be an interesting showdown! Pakistan has won the toss and decided to bowl first, which could give them a strong start in this shortened 7-over game.

The Aussies are fielding a slightly weakened team today. They’re missing some of their key players: three of their first-choice bowlers, Mitchell Marsh, and Travis Head are out. After losing the ODI series 2-1 at home, Australia’s T20I squad isn’t looking as intimidating as it usually does, and this might be Pakistan’s chance to keep the momentum going.

Although there’s no World Cup at stake in this series, both teams are definitely playing for pride. Pakistan will want to repeat their success from the ODI series, while Australia will be looking to defend their ground and salvage some confidence in the T20I format.

Here are the line-ups for the match:

    Pakistan XI:
    • Babar Azam
    • Mohammad Rizwan (c/wk)
    • Sahibzada Farhan
    • Usman Khan
    • Salman Agha
    • Irfan Khan
    • Abbas Afridi
    • Shaheen Shah Afridi
    • Haseebullah Khan
    • Haris Rauf
    • Naseem Shah

    Australia XI:
    • Jake Fraser-McGurk
    • Matt Short
    • Josh Inglis (c/wk)
    • Glenn Maxwell
    • Marcus Stoinis
    • Aaron Hardie
    • Xavier Bartlett
    • Nathan Ellis
    • Adam Zampa
    • Spencer Johnson

So, what’s your take? Do you think Australia can step up and give Pakistan a run for their money, or will Pakistan pull off another victory? Keep an eye out for live updates and join the discussion!

Alright, cricket fans! It’s game time as Pakistan and Australia kick off their T20I series with a bang.
Australia vs Pakistan Live Score 1st T20I: Australia beat Pakistan by 29 runs

What a wild first T20I between Australia and Pakistan! Due to rain at the Gabba, the game was shortened to just 7 overs per side, making it a high-paced, no-room-for-error showdown. Australia came out strong, putting up a solid total of 93/4 in their 7 overs. Glenn Maxwell was the standout, hammering 43 off just 19 balls, and Marcus Stoinis chipped in with an unbeaten 21 off 7.

In response, Pakistan’s chase got off to a rough start. They lost five wickets with just 16 runs on the board, making it a tough climb from the start. Despite their efforts, they ended up at 64/9, falling 29 runs short of the target. Ellis and Zampa were on point with their bowling in the final overs, and Zampa even wrapped things up with two wickets on the last two balls!

Before this T20I series, Pakistan claimed a historic ODI series win against Australia—an accomplishment 22 years in the making! Led by Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan came in with hopes of carrying that momentum into the T20 format. Their bowling lineup was exceptional in the ODIs, and they were looking to bring that same energy here. But this time, Australia had the edge, despite the reduced overs.

It was a tough chase in the end. With just 6 runs off Ellis's sixth over, Pakistan needed an unlikely 41 runs in the final over. Zampa bowled it with precision, sealing the win for Australia.

Let’s see how Pakistan bounces back in the next game.
